Udinese Coach Francesco Guidolin hopes tonight's 1-1 draw with Anzhi Makhachkala restores 'confidence and serenity' to the club.

The Zebrette have endured a difficult start to the season, knocked out of the Champions League qualifiers on penalties by Braga and collecting one point from a possible nine in Serie A.

Tonight was their first positive result, as Antonio Di Natale's 92nd minute equaliser at the Stadio Friuli gave them a respectable draw with an Anzhi side brimming with multi million signings and coached by Guus Hiddink.

“We hope that this result will help us regain confidence and serenity,” Guidolin told Sky Sport Italia.

“Right now we need a more relaxed and confident atmosphere around us. I hope our fans will be near at this particular time.”

“For two years we have overachieved,” added the tactician, who considered quitting in the wake of the Braga defeat. “The first thing to do right now is take a step towards reality and accept that this is our level.

“We'll try to do well in Serie A and play a good Europa League, but we must not forget that we are Udinese. You have to understand that Real Madrid play in another stadium, and not here…”
