Palermo President Maurizio Zamparini has hinted he’s not done wielding the axe. “I’m changing the club from a coaching and also directorial sense.”

He fired Coach Giuseppe Sannino last week and brought in Gian Piero Gasperini, but there are now reports he’s set to hire ex-Catania and Genoa director Pietro Lo Monaco either as a replacement or a colleague to current director general Giorgio Perinetti.

“It is an ambitious project,” Zamparini told Sky Sport Italia ahead of this afternoon’s Pescara-Palermo game.

“I am changing the club from a coaching and also directorial sense. It will take patience and we hope to get a positive result at Pescara.

“To be honest, I’d have preferred to face Inter or Milan today…”
