The agent of Liverpool forward Fabio Borini has revealed that his client would have been happy to stay at Roma.

“His move to Liverpool happened very quickly,” Marco De Marchi told Radio Incontro on Friday afternoon. “He wanted to stay at Roma and was prepared to even buy a house there.

“However, then the directors eventually decided to sell him to Liverpool and that was certainly a welcome destination for him.”

Borini was sold to Liverpool in the summer for around €13m – just weeks after the Giallorossi had signed the remaining 50 per cent of his contract from Parma for €5.3m.
