Milan full-back Djamel Mesbah has revealed that Fiorentina made a late bid to sign him during the summer.

The full-back was linked with a switch away from the Stadio Meazza, but the January signing from Lecce opted to stay.

“Towards the end of the window, the Viola did express an interest,” the 27-year-old told Sky Sport Italia. “However, by then, I had already decided to stay with the Rossoneri.”

Milan actually agreed a deal with Torino for the stopper in July, but Mesbah refused to join the newly promoted outfit.

Palermo, after selling Federico Balzaretti to Roma, were also being heavily linked with him.

Mesbah has played in just one League game for the Diavolo this season.
