Trap risks Irish sack after 6-1 loss

Giovanni Trapattoni is under serious pressure after the Republic of Ireland were destroyed 6-1 by Miroslav Klose’s Germany.

Tonight’s World Cup qualifier was Ireland’s worst ever home defeat, surpassing a 5-0 against Spain back in 1931.

Il Trap is now at real risk of the sack after this astounding hammering, in which Lazio striker Klose earned a penalty and scored the fourth.

Trapattoni has been the manager of Ireland since May 2008 with assistant Marco Tardelli. He was on the Italy bench from 2000-2004.
