The verdict on whether the Cagliari-Roma game must be replayed is postponed after the judges requested further information.

Today the FIGC Court sat down to discuss the appeal lodged by Cagliari President Massimo Cellino.

The Serie A match was called off by authorities due to public order fears after the Is Arenas failed security checks, but President Cellino urged fans to attend the fixture behind closed doors anyway.

A 3-0 win was awarded to Roma, but Cagliari have lodged an appeal because they want the game to be played on the field.

A verdict was expected today, but the appeal process has been suspended after the judges requested further information.

“Football must be played and not spoken. Roma and Cagliari must face off on the field and then share a drink afterwards,” said Cellino.

Roma director Franco Baldini noted “the verdict will show rules have to be respected.”
