Galliani: November is important

Adriano Galliani has warned that Milan still have a long way to go before they can declare themselves ‘back’, with November now a ‘fundamental month’.

The Rossoneri convincingly defeated Chievo 5-1 at the weekend, but Vice-President Galliani chose to follow on from Coach Massimiliano Allegri’s words of ‘regained confidence’ with a warning that the work has only just begun.

“The month of November is very important. There are six fundamental games between the League and Champions League that will allow us to move up the tables,” Galliani told reporters today.

“We are still far behind, we are 10th in the League, we must rise. It will not be easy, but we have to try.

“Tuesday’s game with Malaga is a major challenge because if we win we would take a major step forward towards qualification.

“In the League we have collected seven points from our first eight games and as many in the last three… Our performance needs to improve, it will take time and we are still very far away.”

Galliani was asked his view on the refereeing controversy to come out of the weekend’s match between Juventus and Inter.

“Many thoughts passed through my mind…Tagliavento was the referee last season for the Scudetto match between Milan and Juventus and he was the referee for the possible Scudetto match this year between Juventus and Inter… But who puts him in charge, every time?

“Did Vidal’s goal remind me of Muntari’s? Now that I will never forget…”

The Vice-President, who issued a hands-off to Manchester City for Stephan El-Shaarawy, returned the favour with some speculative comments on their forward Mario Balotelli.

“It is true, I love him madly, even if it can also be said that not every love in life can have a happy ending.”
