Bologna have dismissed speculation that they will target Napoli’s Eduardo Vargas during the January transfer window.

Whispers are suggesting that the struggling Rossoblu are ready to offer the Azzurri Robert Acquafresca in exchange for the Chilean.

“For now we are thinking about the championship,” director Roberto Zanzi is quoted as saying. “When the time is right then we will sit down with our Coach and discuss transfers.

“As a club, we have not discussed a swap between Acquafresca and Vargas,” he added. “There are no negotiations going on right now.

“It is true that we need some new players in certain areas, but our priority right now is the championship.”

Vargas, who joined Napoli in January 2012, has no goals in six League appearances this season. Acquafresca, meanwhile, has yet to ripple the net in four games.
