Miroslav Klose and Antonio Candreva were overjoyed after scoring in Lazio’s 3-2 derby win. “I dreamed of this goal.”

Candreva’s long-range free kick equalised and Klose turned the game around before half-time.

“This was a very important victory for us, the club and the fans,” said the German international.

“It was difficult to play on this pitch, but we put in a great performance. Am I a decisive man in the derby? No, the important thing is that the team does well and wins.

“I am not interested in who scores or not, just that we got the points.”

Candreva had been jeered and insulted by Lazio fans when he first joined because of rumours he had been a Roma supporter as a child.

“It was a curious game,” said Candreva. “We managed to get it back on track before half-time, but derbies are always one-off occasions.

“I have dreamed of this goal since the moment I arrived here.”
