The centre-back went down in theatrical fashion at the Stadio Barbera which only resulted in his booking.
It seems that the incident amused Bendtner, who took to Twitter after the game with great amusement.
He wrote: “Who shot Bonucci? 😉 Haha.”
The Italian international apologised for his actions after the 1-0 win in Sicily. It proved to be a costly booking too as the player will now miss next week’s game against Atalanta.
