Zdenek Zeman has a very simple recipe for Roma’s recent success. “We play better and make fewer mistakes.”

The Giallorossi are on a remarkable run of five consecutive victories and reached the Coppa Italia Quarter-Finals midweek, so are looking forward to facing Chievo on Sunday afternoon.

“The team is doing well, as no we play better, keep the tempo up for longer and make fewer mistakes,” said Zeman in his Press conference.

“There is the hunger, enthusiasm and desire to take the game to our opponents. Chievo are not to be underestimated and we’ll also have to see what state the pitch is in, as the weather won’t help us play the ball to feet.”

Erik Lamela returns, while Miralem Pjanic and Daniele De Rossi have shaken off injuries.

“Francesco Totti played for years as a striker, while Pjanic is also attacking in his own way. With Pjanic in the trident we are more balanced, as he helps out in midfield.

“There are many young players at Roma, but for me the future is the present. I never complained about my players. They tried to follow my directives, but just weren’t able to do it fully.”
