Chelsea lost the Club World Cup against Corinthians and his ex-Inter defender Marco Materazzi blamed Rafa Benitez.

The manager was brought in to replace Roberto Di Matteo and thrown in to the deep end with the chance to win the Club World Cup.

It was a very similar situation to 2010 with Inter, when he won the trophy after replacing Jose Mourinho.

“My son is crying for Chelsea,” wrote Materazzi on Twitter after their 1-0 defeat to Corinthians.

“What an achievement we managed in Abu Dhabi… We were able to win without a Coach! I had told you…”

Inter lifted the Club World Cup in Abu Dhabi in 2010, but Benitez parted company with the club by mutual consent only days later.
