Palermo have given Chievo Verona a deadline as negotiations for Stefano Sorrentino continue to stall.

The Rosanero want to sign the goalkeeper this month, but agreeing a deal with the Flying Donkeys is proving to be problematic.

After almost three weeks of talks, the Stadio Barbera outfit have now set their Serie A rivals an ultimatum.

“The situation for Sorrentino is clear,” stated Palermo CEO Pietro Lo Monaco to the Corriere del Mezzogiorno.

“We’ve given Chievo until Tuesday to give us a response, otherwise we will be turning our attention to another goalkeeper.”

The Rosanero are understood to have offered €4m, but the Gialloblu are hoping to get Jasmin Kurtic as part of the deal.

Meanwhile, Lo Monaco confirmed that his club are still interested in Malaga midfielder Diego Buonanotte.

“The talks are alive,” he added. “It all depends on Malaga as the player is convinced and enthused by Palermo.”
