Fredy Guarin is saddened that he’ll be unable to help Inter overturn their 2-1 deficit to Roma in the second leg of their Coppa Italia tie.

The Colombian international was booked during the semi-final defeat in Rome last night and will thus be suspended for the return.

“It’s disappointing that I won’t be able to be used in the next game,” the midfielder told RAI. “I'm gutted…

“But the good thing is that the tie is still open. We'll be ready for Roma at our place so we can turn it around.”

Guarin has been catching the eye for the Beneamata in recent weeks after being fielded behind the strikers by boss Andrea Stramaccioni.

“I'm really enjoying it,” the former Porto man explained when asked about his more advanced role on the pitch.

“I have the freedom to try and provide assists, to shoot, I like it. Plus I've got an engine which allows me to go forward and track back.”
