Milan and Genoa are discussing the possibility of sending Francesco Acerbi on loan to Sampdoria for the rest of the season.

The centre-back is part-owned by both clubs but joined Milan in the summer after catching the eye at Chievo last term.

The 24-year-old has struggled for games at San Siro – he’s played in six Serie A ties, two Champions League matches and two in the Coppa Italia.

Milan, following the arrival of Cristian Zaccardo from Parma this week, are willing to send him to Doria until June.

However, it is unclear if Genoa will allow it seeing as Sampdoria could potentially be relegation rivals.
