Donadoni stands up to Napoli

Roberto Donadoni welcomes his new Parma players and notes they “worked on our own performance rather than just how to stop Napoli.”

The Ducali are the only side in Serie A still unbeaten on home turf and aim to continue that trend when second-placed Napoli come to the Tardini this afternoon. Click here for a match preview.

“It will require a great game on our part and we must concentrate to ensure we don’t allow them space for the counter-attack,” said Donadoni.

“They have players of great quality in both physical and technical terms. However, during the week we worked on our own performance rather than just how to stop Napoli.”

Parma have made changes to their squad over the last few days, bringing in Djamel Mesbah and Rodney Strasser from Milan in exchange for Cristian Zaccardo.

“I am curious to get to know Strasser, as he is a player who can take on various midfield roles and can certainly give us a hand.”

Parma squad: Mirante, Pavarini, Bajza; Benalouane, Fideleff, Lucarelli, Paletta, Santacroce; Biabiany, Gobbi, Marchionni, Morrone, Ninis, Parolo, Rosi, Strasser, Valdes; Amauri, Belfodil, Pabon, Palladino, Sansone
