Rolando Maran insists today’s Catania-Fiorentina match “is not a duel” between him and ex-Elefantini Coach Vincenzo Montella.

It’s a very special match for Montella at the Stadio Massimino this afternoon, as he returns to face his former club. Click here for a match preview.

“I don’t think this is a duel between the Coaches. Everyone is playing for three points and for their own season targets.

“We are missing a few players, including Francesco Lodi, Sergio Almiron and Gonzalo Bergessio. Giovanni Marchese and Marco Biagianti have recovered and are available. Now we have to think about improving game by game, always focusing on the three points.”

Fiorentina had been named as title contenders, but have had a disastrous start to 2013.

“They are not in trouble, as they are a very well-organised team,” insisted Maran. “We must do well to limit their possession and passing game, as that is their main strength.

“My team has to push forward and be attacking, then able to strike at the right moment.”
