Roma sporting director Walter Sabatini has admitted that the club are pondering the future of boss Zdenek Zeman.

Reports this morning are suggesting that the tactician could be axed after they slipped to eighth place in the Division after the 3-3 draw with Bologna.

“Zeman’s work is satisfying under certain aspects, but it is clear that there are less positive things,” the official stated on Monday.

“It’s is time to start asking ourselves some questions and, amongst the considerations, we’ll also think about a change of Coach – even if only marginally.”

The Czech tactician returned to the capital club in the summer – 13 years after his previous stint in charge – following his success in Serie B with Pescara last term.

“We’ve left Zeman to work and he’s had courage to understand the potential of a lot of players, like Erik Lamela and others,” Sabatini added.

“Zeman euphorically accepted the offer to Coach Roma and we chose him thinking that he would get his desire to play football into the heads of the players.”

The Giallorossi are without a win in four League games having lost to Napoli and Catania, while they collected draws against Inter and Bologna.

They did beat Inter 2-1 in the first leg of the Coppa Italia semi-final last week.

The Corriere dello Sport today suggested that Alberto Malesani and Primavera boss Alberto De Rossi, father of midfielder Daniele, could be possible replacements if Zeman is axed.
