Ex-Milan boss Fabio Capello feels it would be risky to man-mark Lionel Messi in this week’s Champions League game against Barcelona.

Rossoneri President Silvio Berlusconi advised boss Massimiliano Allegri to shadow the Argentine wizard in Wednesday’s game, but Capello is cautious.

“Berlusconi likes to coach,” the Russian CT smiled. “The thing is that you need two men on Messi, not one.

“If you do that then they would be devoted only to this task and the problem is that Barcelona have other great players.”

The Spanish giants will start the last 16 tie as favourites and Capello concedes that the Diavolo will need Lady Luck on their side.

“To beat Barcelona, Milan are going to need a little bit of good fortune,” he added.

“There’s too much of a difference at the moment between Barcelona and Milan – and between Barcelona and many other teams.”
