Adem Ljajic has confirmed that his client is on his way to Italy to discuss a contract renewal with Fiorentina.

The Serbian international is only tied to the Viola until 2014, but reports this week suggested that an extension could be on the horizon.

“I’ve already said in the past that I want to stay,” the 21-year-old told Sky Sport Italia. “I’ve even decided to buy a house here.

“I have a contract until 2014, but we will discuss an extension. My agent will arrive soon and we’ll talk about my future, but I want to stay.”

Ljajic, three goals in 17 games this term, has played regularly under new Viola boss Vincenzo Montella this term.

“We’re fighting for third place which would mean qualifying for the Champions League,” the forward added. “We’re there and we hope to get into Europe.”

The Tuscan giants are currently sixth in the table, but only two points shy of third spot.
