Davide Ballardini felt Genoa deserved a penalty in Palermo, but concedes “it was very difficult to spot.”

Santiago Garcia seemed to clip Marco Rossi as he was pulling the trigger with the final kick of the first half in their 0-0 draw.

“There was a penalty, as Garcia brought down Rossi before the break, but I will admit it was very difficult to spot and not an easy decision,” said Ballardini.

“We should’ve gone for the victory after Salvatore Aronica’s dismissal, but the rain had made the pitch very heavy and it was difficult to pass cleanly.

“We could have played better and weren’t sharp enough, but a point at the Stadio Barbera against a motivated Palermo can only be considered positive.”

Genoa kept their third consecutive clean sheet and are still unbeaten under Ballardini.
