Simone Perrotta says it would be a “total failure” if Roma don’t qualify for European club football.

After finishing outside of the Champions League and Europa League spot last season, there is the risk of a repeat this time around.

“If we don’t get into Europe this season either then it will be a total failure because this squad has crazy qualities,” the 35-year-old midfielder commented.

After finishing outside of the Champions League and Europa League spot last season, there is the risk of a repeat this time around.

“If we don’t get into Europe this season either then it will be a total failure because this squad has crazy qualities,” the 35-year-old midfielder commented.

“Finishing third would be the maximum for us, but the Europa League would be a good objective too when you consider where we were a little while ago.”

The Giallorossi are eighth in the Division, but only five points shy of third-placed Milan.

After a run of five League games without a win, they replaced boss Zdenek Zeman with Aurelio Andreazzoli.

“He’s doing a great job,” the World Cup winner added. “He knows how to work on the mental aspect and he’s looking to install that enthusiasm which we’ve lost in recent times.”
