Italy boss Cesare Prandelli says he can now count on a new Mario Balotelli following his switch to Milan.

Balotelli left Manchester City in January for the Diavolo and he’s netted four goals in four games for his new club.

“I’m seeing a great Balotelli,” the former Fiorentina tactician told QS. “He is a player regenerated by the fact that he is close to his family again.”

Not only can Prandelli now keep a closer eye on the striker, he can also see him in action alongside promising Italian forward Stephan El Shaarawy.

“As the national team boss, I have to be delighted to see Balotelli and El Shaarawy playing alongside each other,” he added. “They are not incompatible.”

Prandelli was also asked to give his opinion on Friday night’s big Scudetto clash between leaders Juventus and second-placed Napoli.

“It will be a spectacular game between two sides who have improved since last season,” he explained.

“One team is the strongest in the Division who are not distracted by the Champions League, while the other is doing really well.”
