Gasperini was fired by the Sicilians on February 4, but replacement Alberto Malesani was sacked last Sunday and he was recalled.

This is his ‘debut’ in the second stint on the bench and he brings back the three-man defence.

Palermo have to do without Abel Hernandez, Andrea Mantovani and the suspended Salvatore Aronica.

Diego Fabbrini and Josip Ilicic support centre-forward Mauro Boselli, but Fabrizio Miccoli is on the bench.

Torino miss the banned Angelo Ogbonna and Abou Diop, while Jonathas, Pablo Caceres and Marko Bakic are sidelined.

Rolando Bianchi leads the way in attack, flanked by Paulo Vitor Barreto and Alessio Cerci.
