Esteban Cambiasso has played down the row between teammate Antonio Cassano and boss Andrea Stramaccioni.

The two men clashed in training last week and the forward was subsequently left out of the squad for Sunday’s 3-2 win at Catania.

“It's quite normal that people know a lot of what goes on,” he told Sky Sport Italia after the media got hold of the story.

“Luckily for us, and sadly for you, a lot less of what actually goes on ever makes it out…

“How annoying is it that it has come now? I'd say the squad is tight because you can only win a match like this if you are all together.

“I've learned that in Italy often a side that's on edge is a winning side.”

Cassano is set to return to training on Monday, less than 24 hours after his teammates came from 2-0 down to collect a memorable win in Sicily.

“How will we welcome Cassano back into the group? Too much has already come out, I'm not going to be the one to reveal anything else,” the Argentine added.

“The Coach has said it too – we'll pretend he was suspended for a match like Andrea Ranocchia was on Sunday. And they'll be available for the next few games.”
