Marco Giampaolo has revealed the reasons why he rejected the opportunity to become the new boss of Pescara.

The seaside outfit, bottom of Serie A, offered the tactician a contract after they decided to sack Cristiano Bergodi at the weekend.

“Pescara did all that they could, but there were not the right conditions in place for me to go,” the former Ascoli man told TMW.

“Behind a decision to restart there has to be the right scenario. But, from my point of view, there wasn’t.

“The situation at Pescara is delicate and I opted to decline, but I thank the President for the conversation.”

Pescara have decided to appoint youth team boss Cristian Bucchi.
