Bad news for Lazio, as hitman Sergio Floccari has suffered a thigh strain and might well miss out on the Derby della Capitale.

Floccari underwent tests today that confirmed a lesion to the semi-membrane tissue in the back of his right leg.

“We hope to have him back with the team for the derby on April 8,” chief medic Roberto Bianchini told Lazio Style Radio.

It is a bitter blow, as Miroslav Klose, Abdoulay Konko and Cristian Brocchi are also out injured.

“Klose is doing very well and sticking to our predictions for his rehabilitation process. On Monday he will have another test and start to intensify his training.

“It will be another couple of weeks before we see him take part in an official game.”

There was at least good news for goalkeeper Federico Marchetti, who was accidentally kicked in the head during last night’s 3-1 Europa League win over Stuttgart.

“It was a nasty bruise, but fortunately that was all along with a slight cut that did not need stitches. He was back in training today without problems.”
