Montella: 'Ambitious with Fiorentina'

Vincenzo Montella brushed off speculation about his future ahead of tomorrow’s game with Genoa. “I am ambitious with Fiorentina.”

The Coach has already been linked with a return to Roma, while Milan, Inter and Napoli have also been mentioned for next season.

“Nowadays people seem to do nothing other than talk about the transfer market for both players and Coaches,” shrugged Montella in his Press conference.

“Now is not the time to discuss these things. I have no imminent aspiration to go elsewhere. I have a contract. I am satisfied and ambitious with Fiorentina.”

“The difference in a game is in the individual and psychological preparation. It will be important to focus, as it’s going to be difficult tomorrow. Genoa are not in trouble, because they signed some experienced and quality players in January.

“Recent results have been harsh on Genoa, as they did not deserve to lose their last two games. Davide Ballardini is a solid Coach who adapts to the players at his disposal. He’s very pragmatic.

“Now we are in a key part of the season and have to give our all. Every point is worth double compared to earlier this term.

“In order to qualify for Europe, we will need talent, consistency and good luck. If we maintain the same desire to win that we showed against Lazio last week, then we’ll have a good chance.”

The Viola are without Mounir El Hamdaoui, Michele Camporese, Marvin Compper and Ahmed Hegazi.
