Former Lazio Coach Edy Reja believes they can overturn the 2-0 Europa League defeat tonight. “Fenerbahce are not Bayern Munich.”

The Biancocelesti lost the first leg of their quarter-final 2-0 in Istanbul with two late goals, including a controversial penalty, after Eddy Onazi was sent off.

“With all due respect for Fenerbahce, I think Lazio have the quality needed to turn this around,” Reja told TMW.

“The Turkish side are not Bayern Munich. It’s a shame it has to be played behind closed doors, as the fans would’ve given Vladimir Petkovic’s lads a real boost.

“With the right mentality, Lazio can do it. I know this squad well and they have the character to achieve this comeback.”

Stefano Mauri and Onazi are suspended, while Miroslav Klose is not 100 per cent fit, so Libor Kozak is again expected to start tonight. Kick-off is at 20.05 UK time (19.05 GMT).

“I always thought Libor needed to play consistently in order to reach his true potential,” continued Reja.

“He has the physique and tends to get the ball in the back of the net. This is why he should play an entire season as a protagonist to show what he can do in Italy after his performances in the Europa League.

“The Fenerbahce attack is very fast, but the defence often leaves useful spaces open. Players like Antonio Candreva, Senad Lulic and Hernanes have the quality to hurt them when they make mistakes.”
