The Tuscans had gone 2-0 up at half-time, but were pegged back on 2-2 at the Adriatico before Innocent Emeghara snatched the winner on the counter-attack.

“We started so well and were able to impose our tempo in the first half, but after the break lost intensity and allowed Pescara to get back to 2-2,” said the Coach.

“We got scared after Pescara netted their first goal, but then we recovered and did well to win the game. It was a complicated situation, but I compliment the players because they believed.”

Siena went into this weekend in joint-penultimate position with Genoa and Palermo, while Pescara now seem doomed after an eighth consecutive defeat.

“People thought we were already relegated when I arrived, as we were so far behind Pescara and had to fight back, not to mention the six-point penalty.”
