De Rossi would keep Andreazzoli

Aurelio Andreazzoli has done enough to be handed the Roma job on a permanent basis, says Daniele De Rossi.

The tactician was placed in control of the side following February’s decision to dismiss Zdenek Zeman.

Andreazzoli was widely considered as a short-term solution, but the midfielder has backed him to stay for next season.

“I would personally confirm Andreazzoli,” the Italian international told Sky Sport Italia after the 3-2 Coppa Italia win at Inter. “No matter what happens in the Final.

“It would of course be important to lift the trophy, but the Coach has done an enormous job and he’d be my choice for next term.

“He certainly deserves to be confirmed for what he has shown, but the decision will be made by the club and not me.”
