Marek Hamsik insists he has “no regrets” about Napoli’s season, but hopes Walter Mazzarri and Edinson Cavani can stay with him next year.

The Partenopei look to have second place under lock and key after going seven points clear of Milan with only four games left to play.

“We had a great campaign, only getting it wrong in a few games. Unfortunately, Juventus” data-scaytid=”7″>Juventus did better,” the Slovakian told Sky Sport Italia.

“I have no regrets over the Scudetto race, as we are improving and second place is certainly not to be sniffed at. In order to make that extra step up in quality we must avoid the wrong approach against teams like Torino, Sampdoria” data-scaytid=”9″>Sampdoria and Bologna.”

Hamsik signed a contract extension despite offers from around Europe, but Coach Mazzarri and teammate Cavani are considering a move away from Naples.

“I have never had regrets in my life and am happy to be here. I hope Mazzarri and Cavani can stay here, as they are our strength.

“Edi is relaxed and not thinking about the transfer gossip because we still have to earn second place. At the end of the season he will have two months to make a decision.

“Mazzarri has helped me in every aspect. How do I see the next five years panning out? For the moment I am focused on securing the Champions League place, then enjoying that competition next season and hopefully even fight for the Scudetto.”
