Barcelona’s Carles Puyol has moved quickly to dismiss talk that he is set to join Milan at the end of the season.

“All reports that are being published are false,” he said on his Twitter feed. “I'm only focusing on recovering and being fully fit for next season.”

BTV had suggested that the 35-year-old was already in negotiations with the Rossoneri with regard to a summer move.

Puyol has had a frustrating campaign at the Camp Nou and hasn’t featured since undergoing knee surgery in March.

Milan Vice-President Adriano Galliani recently confirmed the club could make a move to sign a centre-back this summer.

However, Puyol, who has spoken of his admiration for Milan in the past, is a player who doesn’t fit in with Milan’s new transfer policy of targeting youngsters.
