Napoli chief Aurelio De Laurentiis has given Walter Mazzarri less than a week to make a decision on his future.

The tactician is being linked with a move away from the Stadio San Paolo given that clubs such as Roma, Inter and now Paris Saint-Germain are said to be keen on his services.

Although he’s successfully guided Napoli into the Champions League again, Mazzarri is undecided over whether to extend his contract which expires in June.

“He has four days to decide,” the club President said after last night’s Champions League qualification party at the D’Angelo-Santa Caterina restaurant.

“When you go you know what you are leaving behind, but you do not know what you will find. The decision is up to him.

“It’s the same situation for the players. There are some who have Napoli in their DNA, while there are some who couldn’t care less.”

There are also doubts over the future of Edinson Cavani, the club’s star striker who is set to be crowned as this season’s top scorer in Serie A.

“You all know that he has a clause in his contract,” ADL continued. “If someone offers €63m then it will be up to him whether that club suits him.

“The fans shouldn’t worry if Cavani or Mazzarri leave, they should only be concerned if De Laurentiis goes. But be calm because I love Napoli.”
