Inter stopper Juan Jesus is thankful that the club’s problematic 2012-13 has now come to an end.
“We tried everything, but we've had all sorts happen to us this year,” the Brazilian said after the 5-2 loss at home to Udinese.
“We lost lots of important players to injury. It's a shame we had such a bad end to the campaign, but at least it's over now.
“We can focus on starting afresh.
“I'm sure we'll come back stronger. I thank the fans for not booing us, not even tonight. We really must thank them, they understand what we've been through.”
Inter have failed to qualify for European competition next term after losing 16 of their 38 League games this season.
As a result, there is some uncertainty over the future of young boss Andrea Stramaccioni.
“That's for the President to decide,” added the Brazilian. “I'll always be grateful to Stramaccioni for everything he's done for me.”
