“Bayern are the strongest team and we have to recognise that when meeting a side that is superior in terms of experience, planning and everything else,” said Conte.

“Looking at the two teams, I would say Bayern are the favourites. Am I similar to Jurgen Klopp? He is doing very well at Borussia and in two seasons won the Bundesliga and reached the Champions League Final.”

Juventus were knocked out in the quarter-final by Bayern Munich, losing 4-0 on aggregate, but put up considerably more of a fight than Barcelona, who lost 7-1 on aggregate in the semi-final.

“We are progressing on our journey, confirming our status in Serie A and reaching the top eight in Europe,” continued Conte.

“Of course it is our aspiration to be here for the Champions League Final as protagonists rather than spectators, but it will take time to close on the superpowers who every year invest heavily on the transfer market.”
