Enrico Preziosi has spoken of his love for Francesco Lodi, Genoa’s need for him and how only personal terms separate him from a move from Catania.

The Grifone President yesterday intimated that Lodi was on the verge of a move to Marassi this transfer window, whilst later reports indicated that an agreement with his Sicilian employers was reached, involving a trade with Panagiotis Tachtsidis.

“I love him. I have followed him since he was at Frosinone, but Catania were better than me [in getting him],” reflected Preziosi in conversation with Telenord today.

“It’s never too late. The two clubs have already signed the agreements. Now we have to formalise with the player, but I do not think there will be problems.

“Lodi is important for me because we have needed a real director. I don’t believe that he cannot play alongside Matuzalem.

“For Lodi, we have only sold to Catania half of Tachtsidis.”
