PSG are reportedly preparing a bid for Daniele De Rossi after Roma started pre-season training amid protests and insults.

The French side has also shown an interest in Lazio midfielder Hernanes, but according to the Corriere della Sera they are primarily targeting De Rossi.

Meanwhile, the situation within the Giallorossi camp is extremely tense on the day pre-season training began at Trigoria.

A large group of fans gathered outside the gates to chant against the club owners and handed out T-Shirts urging everyone to “throw out” director of sport Walter Sabatini and general manager Claudio Fenucci.

There was a huge banner that read: ‘Pallotta is just a name,’ referring to President James Pallotta’s distance from the side in his Boston office.

Another read: ’26-5-13, we will never forget the way you doused Roma in mud.’ That was the date of the Coppa Italia Final, lost 1-0 to rivals Lazio.

Several players were also subjected to insults when they tried to drive through the gates, including Miralem Pjanic.

The only people to receive applause were Francesco Totti, new Coach Rudi Garcia and fresh signing Mehdi Benatia.

The ultras also demanded a face-to-face meeting with Totti and the team, but were denied the request.
