Roma “have made no offer” for Kevin Strootman and PSV warn they’ll only sell for a very impressive bid.

Italian media had reported this morning that only details separated the Dutch international midfielder from the Giallorossi jersey, but that seems to be premature.

“Roma have contacted us to tell us that they are interested in Kevin Strootman,” technical director Marcel Brands told Fox Sports.

“We have told Roma that Strootman is not for sale, and only an important offer could convince us otherwise.

“In our opinion, Roma is the only club to be interested in Strootman, but they have made no offer.”

The reported bid is worth approximately €18m, just shy of PSV Eindhoven’s20m valuation for the 23-year-old.

“We are aware of the interest and the communication between PSV and Roma, but we will only come into action when Marcel Brands gives the signal that both clubs have come to an agreement,” added Strootman’s agent Chiel Dekker.

Other clubs who have shown an interest in Strootman include Milan and Manchester United.
