“In my opinion, nothing happens by accident,” the goalkeeper, who joined the club from Udinese” data-scaytid=”6″>Udinese last summer, told Sky Sport Italia.

“Even negative seasons like our last one can be useful. We need to restart without forgetting those mistakes and the humiliation.

“The fact that we have no European commitments this time around will be, I think, an advantage. But for now we only need to think about working hard and then we’ll see how far we can go.”

Inter opted to dismiss Coach Andrea Stramaccioni in the summer in favour of bringing in former Napoli tactician Walter Mazzarri.

“I think Mazzarri’s career speaks for itself,” the Slovenian added. “He’s an experienced Coach. He hasn’t been with us for very long, but there will be time to get to know each other.

“Every Coach’s career speaks for itself, just as it does for players. He’s certainly someone who never backs down.”
