Roma boss Rudi Garcia has spoken of his admiration for Marco Borriello, Pablo Daniel Osvaldo and new signing Kevin Strootman.

Striker Borriello has returned to the capital club after a season on loan at Genoa where he scored 12 goals in 28 League games.

“Borriello has gunpowder in his left foot, he’s ready physically and has a good understanding with Francesco Totti on the field of play,” said the tactician. “He is a true striker.”

Borriello may be needed in the capital this season given that Osvaldo could be sold by the Giallorossi.

“Osvaldo is a goal scorer and a player of the highest level,” Garcia added. “It is always better to keep your best players rather than see them leave.”

La Magica further strengthened this week thanks to the €17m capture of PSV and Holland midfielder Strootman.

“Strootman is a high level player. He’s very technical and he asks for the ball. I like his determination, his desire to win and his leadership.”

Meanwhile, Roma beat a Riscone select XI 9-1 on Wednesday.
