Alvarez confident for 2013-14

Ricky Alvarez is hoping the system change at Inter with new boss Walter Mazzarri will benefit his form.

The Argentine had a problematic 2012-13 when he was used in a variety of positions by then Coach Andrea Stramaccioni.

“It's a shame we didn't get the results we wanted last season, but I think I played some good games,” the former Velez winger told Inter Channel.

“Now I want to begin this season as I finished the last, by getting into goalscoring positions, scoring goals – which is perhaps what I was missing. I can do well.

“Mazzarri’s tactics? The system allows us to get a lot of players into goalscoring positions and that's important.

“We're doing a good job on tactics, we still need to learn a lot more of what Mazzarri wants from us but we'll get there.

“The Coach wants me to arrive in attack when it’s least expected. It's a good role, we'll try to do that well.

“I believe I'm having a good pre-season training camp and that's all I'm thinking about, then we'll see how this season goes.”

Alvarez is in his third season at San Siro. He’s scored seven goals in 44 League games for the Beneamata outfit.
