The Milan defender underwent tests and visited specialist Professor Herbert Schonhuber, who advised against surgery.

Instead, the Rossoneri confirmed that Bonera will be out of action for “between 70 and 90 days, excluding complications.”

Milan also announced that Robinho suffered an upper left thigh strain and “he will undergo further tests in two weeks for a complete definition of the situation.”

This suggests the Brazilian could be out of action for some time and is at risk for the Champions League play-offs.
