Napoli have confirmed that they have cancelled tonight’s schedule ‘celebration’ due to the bus crash which has killed at least 37 people near Irpinia.

The club were due to offer the fans ‘fireworks, dancers, singing and acrobatics’ before the game against Galatasaray.

But the Partenopei have announced that they will shelve those plans as a mark of respect to the victims of the tragedy.

“Napoli is appalled by the terrible tragedy that occurred in Irpinia,” a statement on the club’s official website read.

“As such, we cannot commence with the performance of dance, acrobatic, signing and fireworks.

“After a necessary moment of silence on the field and in the stands, the club shall limit the presentations of the new kit and new signings.”
