Insigne wants push of fans

Lorenzo Insigne believes the Napoli support could prove a decisive factor in the outcome of the Azzurri’s season.

The Stadio San Paolo outfit finished second in Serie A last term, but they have been busy trying to build an even more competitive squad – despite the sale of Edinson Cavani to Paris Saint-Germain.

“We played well,” the Italian international told the Gazzetta dello Sport after last night’s 3-1 friendly win over Galatasaray.

“We’ll do some great things this season, but we’ll need the fans to stay close to the team.”

Insigne netted a late penalty for Rafa Benitez’s side at the San Paolo on Monday. Goran Pandev and Juan Zuniga also scored.
