The Nerazzurri are in America for the Guinness Champions Cup tournament, where they’ll play Chelsea in Indianapolis on Thursday night.

“The positive of the American tour is certainly that this is a valuable experience, but I am perplexed by the effect of long journeys and time differences,” Coach Mazzarri told Inter Channel.

“Now we are here and motivated to face important teams. A big crowd brings big motivation and we’re bound to have a warm atmosphere.

“The young players can grow in these situations, but it’s also good for the ‘senators’ of the team. Chelsea are a great side and it’s a stimulating challenge.”

Inter’s only real friendly test of the summer so far was a 1-1 draw away to Hamburg, so what progress does Mazzarri expect against Chelsea?

“I’d like to see faster legs and faster minds, plus a more homogenous movement with the ball.”
