Livorno President Aldo Spinelli confirmed they’re negotiating to bring Alessandro Lucarelli back from Parma.

The defender is from Livorno and used to play for his hometown club, but left in 2006 for spells at Reggina, Genoa and since 2008 Parma.

“I told my directors to negotiate with Parma for the return of Lucarelli,” Spinelli told La Nazione.

“I have an excellent rapport with him and I’d like to bring him back to Tuscany. He could guarantee us that experience we need.

“Our objective is to give him a one-year contract with options for following seasons. I hope it can all go well, because it would be a great move for us.”

Parma captain Lucarelli just turned 36.
