But the striker, who represented the likes of Manchester United, Fulham and Everton over his career has thanked all his former Coaches, teammates and fans.

“I will stop being called a professional footballer,” he posted on his official Twitter account.

“I wish that the young talent enjoy their football as much as I did.

“Love you and thanks.

“I want to thank all my managers, all teammates, all opponents, all fans for their love and support.”
