Hugo Campagnaro has “no regrets” at leaving Napoli for Inter, who make their season debut in the Coppa Italia on Sunday.

The Nerazzurri take on Cittadella in the Third Round of the Coppa Italia, kicking off at 17.30 UK time tomorrow.

“I definitely don't regret anything. I’m pleased with the choice I made,” the defender told Mediaset.

While his former teammates are preparing for the Champions League, Inter are out of European competition.

“Napoli are putting together a good team, they’ve signed some good players and I’m happy for them, but my thoughts are only on Inter.

“It’s too early to say who will win the Scudetto and it’s still early days to say what Inter’s targets for the season can be.

“The first month at Inter has been good for me. We’re working very hard and that’s what matters in pre-season. Now we’re about to start playing competitive matches so we really have to pull out all the stops.

“We still need a bit of time because this is a new group of players and it takes a while to put the Coach’s ideas into practice. But even in the games we lost – apart from against Valencia – we did good things.

“We do need to improve at the back. You always pay for even the slightest mistake in defence. We have to get up to scratch quickly now.”
