Giampiero Ventura tried to reassure angry Torino fans after their shock Coppa Italia exit to Pescara.

The Granata were beaten 2-1 on home turf by the Serie B club, prompting jeers and protests from the crowd.

“This was an important evening because it gives us the opportunity to analyse what went well and what didn’t,” insisted Coach Ventura.

“Many of the mistakes we made are easy to eliminate, while we will work on others. There could be many justifications for the defeat, such as the fact we have many young and foreign players in the squad, but that’s not the point.

“We are working to build something and that takes time. The fans come to the stadium in order to see their team win, so it’s only logical they are disappointed.”
